Xiaomi MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM Is Here: Top 10 New Features

Xiaomi has launched Mi Max smartphone yesterday [30-Jun-2016] in India. Along with Mi Max, Xiaomi announced its next major version of MIUI. The next version is MIUI 8 and Xiaomi has announced it globally during the event in India after it was introduced in China last month. According to Xiaomi, there are over 200 million active users around the world using the MIUI and 33% users in India are more active than average. MIUI 8 has fresh look, color improvements and more features on it. Lets checkout the list of features in MIUI 8.

Key Features in MIUI 8:

Dual Apps – This is one of the most interesting features. So you can have two accounts on any apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc., separately in one phone.


Second Space – It allows you to create two entirely separate profiles on your Mi phones.

Gallery – Redesigned gallery app comes with native video editing, Quick sharing, redesigned thumbnails and Mi Cloud Photo Sync.

Scrolling Screenshots – This is one of my favourite feature from MIUI 8. Yes, you can take screenshots of pages by scrolling and combine multiple images into one long screenshot. You can also crop and edit screenshot from the screen you are working.

Quick Ball – It is a combination of five gesture shortcuts and it can be placed anywhere on the screen. It allows you to access the frequently used apps quicker.

MIUI caller ID – In-built Caller ID to identify numbers from Amazon, Swiggy, Dominos, Zomato and more.

Hindi T9 KeyBoard – MIUI 8 is the first OS to support Hindi T9 dialer

Limits chain start-ups – This feature prevents the unnecessary apps to reduce lags and power consumption.

Advanced Calculator – Refreshed calculator with advanced features.

Few other features like Power saving mode, Improved SMS app and more coming with MIUI 8.

Compatible Device:

MIUI 8 will be avaialble for Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi 4i, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi 2, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 2, and Redmi 1s.

Release Date:

The public beta of MIUI 8 will be available on July 11th, 2016 for the above-mentioned devices. The stable version will be available on August 16th, 2016.
